LPop

Last weekend, I went to the Antonio de Felipe's exhibition in El Retiro.
Antonio is a Valencian artist whose works revolve around Pop Art. He has participated in many solo exhibitions both in Spain and abroad and in many other collective exhibitions. He works on painting, sculpture and serigraphy, mixing elements of the pop culture. Many of his works fuse foreign culture (such as cinema or music) with Madrid 80's scene.
This exhibition called "LPop" was composed of 60 paintings and 5 sculptures. The paintings depicted some "altered" music album covers (mainly 70's, 80's and some 90's albums). All of them looked like real covers! Let me show you some examples:

Madonna - Celebration
Nirvana - Nevermind
Kiss - Destroyer
Michael Jackson - Bad

As you can appreciate in the photos, all paintings measured around 150x150m. A really great work!

You can see more photos in the blog I share with my boyfriend (http://velvetandwool.blogspot.com/2011/06/lpop.html) and of course in the artist's web (http://www.antoniodefelipe.com/).
